LONG-ISH BIO

Heidi Lewis grew up on a horse ranch in the back hills of Southern California. In her opinion, it was an idyllic childhood filled with tree climbing, foraging, wandering, and the occasional rattlesnake sighting. Her parents owned a copyshop where she developed an enduring love of paper and ink. To this day, she’s prone to sniffing the inside of books. Is that weird?

Heidi comes from a long line of creative ladies. Her mom, aunt, and grandmother have written and illustrated books, sold pastina art, stitched magical murals out of fabric, crafted amazing cosplay outfits, and photographed psychedelic seashells. She inherited the creativity gene from these inspired women and passed it on to her kids (her daughter is an illustrator and costumer and her son is a film editor and screenwriter).

Heidi is a cancer survivor and keeps a clandestine online graphic journal documenting her experiences with chronic pain. When she isn’t writing, you can find her wandering through nature, experimenting with small batch ice cream flavors, eating buttered popcorn crisped in the oven, and sending handwritten notes to friends and family.
